Judge Michael Welch

Michael Welch is the publisher of Edible Finger Lakes magazine, the quarterly publication for Central New York that tells the stories of our local food scene, focusing on chefs, farmers, winemakers and other culinary artisans. He and his wife Zoe, who is the Creative Director of the magazine, started Edible Finger Lakes in 2007 and have published 10 issues which have been distributed throughout the region. The mission of the magazine is to highlight and celebrate the best of what our region has to offer and to encourage locals and visitors to get connected to their food sources by knowing their farmers and chefs and shopping for local, seasonal produce at farmers’ markets. Welch is a professionally trained chef and for six years ran a successful catering and culinary instruction business in New York City and the Hamptons.
