Revolutions don’t just come out of nowhere and the seeds of the Finger Lakes Food Revolution were planted years ago with the Slice, Dice and Spice NY culinary competitions.

The competitions pitted Finger Lakes chefs with teams of amateur foodies against each other in Iron Chef-style contests using Finger Lakes and New York State ingredients. These competitions brought the wineries, food producers, farmers, chefs and the public together for one common goal – to promote the wealth of culinary talent and ingredients found in the Finger Lakes and New York State. These contests caused a ground swell of excitement for Finger Lakes cuisine, which paved the way for the Finger Lakes Foodie Revolution.
